Should Virgin Hair Have a Smell????

 Hi Ladies!!! It has been a while.  Today I was emailed this general question, so I have decided to address it for you all. First I do not think any hair should have any smell at all. It just is not natural. BUT.................

sometimes a smell on hair may not be avoidable. Think about this: Have you ever been to a club that people were allowed to smoke, and you come home and your hair smells like smoke? It has happened to me many times. 

What we have found is sometimes hair smells like the factory it was sourced in. 

I think the biggest think is knowing the difference between a chemical/cornchip smell, and just a factory smell. 

Sourcing hair is big business now, so it is done in factories. This sometimes causes a smell and I found this out once I visited our vendors property. The thing is, a long time ago, this would have been unheard of. Today, it is becoming more common I am seeing. I have seen some really amazing hair come delivered with a slight odor. Before, I would be alarmed, but again, I have now seen some amazing hair that I would have missed out on. 

I do have a tip: If your hair has any type of smell, you can wash your hair with a tea tree shampoo and remove the smell. Most likely it is not a chemical smell. After you wash, make sure you condition your hair as well, and a really good idea would be to invest in a light leave conditioner as well.

Take some time to read! Reading is so important. I meet and talk with people all day long that do not read. I realized how costly it is not to read. People always say "my time is valuable", and it baffles me because at times I feel like my time and theirs have been wasted because they did not read.

Amazing Weekend Review....

So I had an amazing weekend! Got to do a few great things for HollywoodWeaves.com , ate some great southern food, and entertained some great friends.

So as everyone knows, HollywoodWeaves.com will be launching its first hair care line at the end of this month! I'm so excited about it and this weekend I got a few moments to review some additional last minute changes that are going to be amazing. Our line will do exactly what we need to be done for our hair. It will repair, restore, invigorate, and protect! So excited!

To round off my weekend, I got to watch the Falcons game with my hunni. Yaaay. 5-0 ! This is the first time in 46 years the Falcons have been 5-0. We also got to entertain my bestie while we discussed HustleandHeels.com . The power of exchanging ideas has no price.  We also had a great visit from Key, @il0veKey (Instagram), and she showed us her new hat line. Eurasian hair!!!

So excited that next week we will be listing our new Euro/Indian blend. This is the best of both worlds. You will get a great blend of silkyness with thickness. You will get a great curly blend a wonderful soft texture. I am so excited. This hair is currently in our quality inspection and I can't wait until it clears. It is so beautiful.

Hair Extension Industry built on Indian Sacrifices...

What is your take? Is this exploitation? I read this great article on the Indian Hair Industry and though I would share it with you ladies who are interested in more information about Indian Hair. Indian hair is one of our top selling virgin hair products. Indian ladies donate their hair to temples and the hair is then auctioned off to wholesalers/retailers like HollywoodWeaves.com. Some people think this is exploitation. Some do not not. I can say this, I do not believe this is exploitation because the hair is donated, and the proceeds go back to the temples. I think both sides win, considering the hair was once used to stuff mattresses ...

September 29th Voters Registration Drive in Atlanta....

Are you registered to vote? As a culture we are devoted to our looks, hair, reputation, how many followers we have? Love and Hip Hop etc. I ask....are you registered to vote.

Friends, I ask you this only with pure concern for our well being as a community. We have to take responsibility for the elected officials we have in office. As a woman in business, I think I deserve the same pay as a man if not more... Don't you. Well many of your elected officials don't believe so as shown when they voted down equal pay for women.
